About the Barham Antiques Family

Barham Antiques is one of the oldest family run Antique Shops in Portobello Road.

Our History
Barham Antiques was started in the late 1940's by Alfred Barham. Starting with just a wheelbarrow and £3, he quickly progressed to having at stall in the famous Bermondsey Antique Market.

A few years later, in the early 1950's he purchased his first shop in Blackstock Road, Highbury, near to the old Arsenal Football Stadium.

Robert Barham has been in
Portobello Road for over
40 years, and involved in
Antiques all his life.
He deals in all types
of antiques, but specialises
in, and has a love for
drinking glasses
and Barware.

In the late 1950's he sold the shop in Highbury and at first rented a shop at 111 Portobello Road.

In 1962 he purchased 83 Portobello Road where the business continues to this day.
